Estampado de Animals

Animal Print

Animal prints are all the rage this year, on the runway and in home décor. Here are some fun way to incorporate the latest trend in your home. I prefer faux prints and there are a lot to chose from- Remember... a little goes a long way!

La Casa de Georgia O'Keefe

Georgia O'Keeffe's House

Georgia O'Keeffe's Ghost Ranch in New Mexico is neither an Indian house nor a Sapnish house but a perfect home for the talented Georgia O'Keefe who purchased the property from the Archdiocese of Santa Fe in 1945.

"To me, it's the best place in the world," O'Keefe said at age 94. "It has always been secluded and solitary. When I first went there, it was only one house with one room which had a ghost living in it."

The kitchen and breakfast room bost viga and latilla ceilings that open on to her backyard desert. The space remained austere with few furnishings besides the bones and other objects the artist found. "The bones seem to cut sharply to the center of something that is keenly alive on the desert even though it is vast and empty and untouchable- and knows no kindneww with all it's beauty." -Georgia O'Keefe

La araña de luces

Chandeliers

Chandeliers are a great way to add light and transform any space. I love to use them like art and make them a focal point of any room. Whether you have a rustic chandelier or a spectacularly elegant one, they can add a lot of pizzazz.

This antique chandelier from Nanette Lepore's house adds extra pop to her already stylish and eclectic abode.

Vamanos a Ibiza, Espana

"Lets go to Ibiza, Spain"

Nestled in the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Spain, Ibiza is a stunningly gorgeous island paradise. Known for its fiesta scene and glamorous hippie style, the island boasts a perfect blend of party and peaceful.

Many of the homes on the island have a rustic style with white stucco walls and contrasting dark wood beams and furniture. The outdoor living space embraces the surround landscape and perfect weather, providing a sense of comfort and style. The look is clean and simple- perfect for island life.

These pictures give a glimpse into the style of Ibiza.

Estilo Hacienda

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

Hacienda style is as much a part of California architecture and décor as it is in Central and South America. True to its roots, the style is often expressed by white stucco walls and floors that alternate between ebony-stained wood and terra cotta tiles. The striking contrast is perfect for unique folk art and textiles.

These pictures below boast a unique Mexican hacienda 21st century style without compromising their original charm. The soaring ceilings with exposed rafters, brightly colored walls and colorful floor tiles represent the rustic simplicity of the style. Rustic furniture and rod iron light fixtures finishes the look to give it an original hacienda vibe.

Hacienda San Angel, Mexico

Like the climate where they were originally built, these design inspirations boast warmth and passion. Hacienda style is one of my favorites that can be done subtly or with extreme flair.
