Viva La Fiesta!

Fiesta is one of Santa Barbara’s oldest and most important cultural traditions.  Dating back to the 1920’s, Spanish Fiesta days prove to be some of the most exciting celebrations for culture, dance and food in our area.  It also happens to be my most favorite time of year!  So, brush off your cowboy boots and get ready to celebrate!  Viva La Fiesta!

!A que cenar afuera!

Summer is the perfect time to eat outside and spruce up the outdoor dining space.  Eating outdoors can be as beautiful and relaxing as indoors.  Whether you have a small or large space always eat with ESTILO!

Vamanos a Seville, Spain

Doused in never-ending sunlight, Seville's beauty is relatively east to uncover. It's known for it's amazing flamenco dancing and beautiful architecture. From Roman ruins to Moorish minarets, Baroque palaces to Renaissance churches, Seville offers visitors an incredible mix of  architectural statements. I love the culture and beauty of this place and find it one of my main sources of inspiration.

Plantas

Plants can lively up any patio or outdoor space.  Since the drought in California, I have a new found love of succulents and cactus which can make any brown and dry space a lot more lively.  Whether in the front patio or out back, add some color and life to your style.

Lutah Riggs

Lutah Riggs is one of the first female architects in Santa Barbara and has often gone unrecognized for her work. As a graduate of the Santa Barbara City College, she worked under George Washington Smith and became extremely influential in much of his design work.

After Smith's death, Lutah started her own firm and has contributed to many homes in Santa Barbara and Montecito. Her environmental concerns and love of the natural landscape has brought a unique and specific quality to her work.

Cheers to Lutah and her amazing contributions to Santa Barbara architecture
