Day of the Dead
Dia de los muertos is a holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and Latin America. Not wanting to offend the dead by mourning and sadness, the holiday focuses on remembering their loved ones who have passed away. Beautiful ofrendas (altars) adored with sugar skulls and beautiful flowers are crafted in homes.
During this special time, the dead are considered part of the living. I love that the Latin culture considers death as a natural part of life and something to be celebrated-We can all learn from that.
Here is my tribute to the living and the dead!
