George Washington Smith
Widely regarded as the founder of Spanish Colonial Revival style, George Washington Smith is one of my favorite architects and styles to admire. Smith's travels in Spain and Mexico schooled him in the elements of Spanish vernacular architecture.
His signature mix of whitewashed walls, re-tiled roofs, balconies, courtyards, fountains, elaborate carved woodwork and wrought iron are seen throughout his homes.
Sprinkled throughout Santa Barbara and surrounding cities, his estilo is still just as popular today.
Viva la vida and do it with ESTILO!
